Join us for the 2021 School Supply Drive

As summer is quickly wrapping up for students, back to school shopping creeps into everyone’s minds. Unfortunately for a lot of families in our footprint, purchasing supplies comes with a financial burden.

To help relieve that burden for families in local communities is why Mid-West Fertilizer is stepping in and helping others in need. This year, Mid-West Fertilizer is hosting a school supply drive for schools across their footprint.

Staff Accountant Holly Herman said, “As a committee, we decided on a school supply drive because many families in our footprint struggle with school costs and purchasing supplies for their children. We chose to focus on middle school and high school because this age group is often overlooked, as the items needed are tailored to each class and school.”

Starting July 5, Mid-West Fertilizer is partnering with surrounding schools to provide local families in need with back-to-school supplies. Each list for high school, junior high and grade school is tailored to specific needs for each age group. Items being collected include but are not limited to: backpacks, notebooks, binders, calculators, folders, lined paper, pencils, pens, sharpies, crayons, markers, highlighters, glue sticks, tape, paper clips, hand sanitizer, tissues as well as gift cards and cash. The supply drive will run starting July 5 through July 30.

When stopping in at Mid-West Fertilizer locations, be on the lookout for donation tin cans as well as flyers containing lists for the participating school(s). Monetary and gift card donations are acceptable and very much appreciated.

“Due to COVID-19, we weren’t able to host the School Supply Drive last year, so we’re hopeful our employees and customers will be able to provide for the schools in our footprint," Herman said.
